In oro-myofunctional therapy (OMFT), tongue depressors are regularly used. For example, to examine the oral cavity, work on tongue elevation, and work on lip closure. They also come in handy for tongue stroking and tongue tapping, to achieve a firmer, more compact tongue. For this purpose, the OMFT therapist often provides depressors to the client to repeat the exercises at home.
Two types of tongue depressors are now available in the OMFT.info webshop: single-use wooden tongue depressors and tongue depressors that can be cleaned and are therefore suitable for repeated use. The ARK Tongue Depressor Tip can also be used repeatedly as a tongue depressor.
