If the lower and upper jaws move towards each other too much during a speech therapy exercise, when this is not intended, then placing a cork between the teeth offers a solution. The mouth opening is then preserved during practice.

The ‘corks for practice’ required for this can now be ordered in the OMFT.info webshop. Placing a cork frontally or laterally between the elements may be necessary during articulation exercises, the clack exercise, when learning to suck the tongue properly during the ’10 count-suction-clack’ exercise and when learning to swallow with the molars from each other. Depending on the space required between the teeth, the cork can be narrowed slightly by cutting it.

The corks can be ordered in the webshop of OMFT.info.  They come in a pack of 10 pieces.
